Here are some photos from our amazing ‘Textiles Day’. We commissioned Julia Allison to work with us to design and produce a new school banner and altar cloth.
Following a presentation by Ethos Group during an assembly, every child in school was involved in designing ideas that included Christian Values, Bible stories and our School Mission Statement.
Reception and Year 1 children made templates of their small hands to be used on the altar cloth, Year 2 were mesmerised watching Julia use her sewing machine and Years 3 to 6 were superb cutting out templates, pinning templates and carefully cutting out items for the overall panels.
There was lots of awe and wonder and all those who took part should be proud of their contribution to this whole school project. We are really looking forward to the finished banner and altar cloth arriving back in school for us to use.
