Magistrate Visit
Lesson: History
Class: Year 5 Year: 2026 - 2027
Year 5 were delighted to welcome Kirsty Hart, a magistrate, into our classroom to support our history topic on Crime and Punishment.
Kirsty gave us a fascinating insight into the role of a magistrate and helped us understand what happens when someone breaks the law. We learnt about the different stages of the magistrates’ court process, the possible consequences of committing a crime and how having a criminal record can affect someone's future.
The children were extremely engaged and asked some excellent, thoughtful questions, showing great curiosity about the justice system. A huge thank you to Kirsty for taking the time to visit us and bring our history learning to life!
