The Great Fire of London
Lesson: History
Class: Year 2 Year: 2026 - 2027
As a hook into their new history enquiry, Year 2 enjoyed a drama re-enactment of the Great Fire of London in the school playground! They were transported back in time, to Sunday 2nd September 1666 and to London, were they had the challenge of putting out the fire! They had fill up beakers and water squirts and race along London Bridge to Pudding Lane where the fire had began. Every time a building had burnt down, a cone was turned over so they had to work quickly. It was very hard work with such little water and they weren’t able to stop the fire spreading!
