Y5 DT Evaluating oatcake toppings

Today we learnt about the importance of oats as ingredients in Scottish cooking. We tasted Scottish oatcakes - lots of people thought they tasted like cardboard!

We then tried 6 different sweet and savoury toppings; honey, natural yoghurt, hummus, green pesto, sweet chilli sauce and Biscoff spread. Sweet chilli sauce and Biscoff spread were by far the favourite.
