Coronavirus Statement – April 2020

The Governors at St Mary’s C of E Primary School have been made aware of concerns regarding the potential impact that the closure of places of worship, due to the Covid 19 outbreak, may have on the future applications for Admission to St. Mary’s CE Primary School.

Governors acknowledge the difficulties of the current situation and will provide clear guidance once we know how long the suspension of church services will continue.

Please be assured that no future applications will be penalised due to the limited opportunities for church attendance during the impacted period.

Admission Arrangements

Admissions to a Church of England Voluntary Aided school are the responsibility of the School Governors, in agreement with the Diocesan Board of Education and the Local Authority. The agreed Published Admission Number (PAN) for the Reception Class is 30. Responsibility for admissions is delegated to the Governors Admissions Committee. Information on how to apply for a place is contained within the school Admissions Policy which is available to view on this website.

We strongly recommend that you also make an appointment to view the school prior to application. ~Please contact the school office 0161 770 8309.

In-Year (Non-Routine) Admissions

It sometimes happens that a child needs to change school other than at the ‘normal’ time; such admissions are known as in-year or non-routine admissions. Parents wishing their child to attend this school should contact the school office for further information.
